More South Loop apartments could soon be on the way, and this time, a development is being proposed over at 600 S. Clark—a location that seems to be booming with new residential development right now. Currently occupying this potentially coveted space is a rather large parking garage, but if developers Dan Moceri, his son Michael, and architect Thomas Roszak have their way, a new 24 story, 202-unit apartment tower could be just the latest high-rise to be added to the growing South Loop skyline.
AMLI just recently delivered their second apartment building here in the neighborhood at 850 S. Clark, and JDL is currently in the process of building their spectacular 29-story, 469-unit apartment tower at 1000 S. Clark—just a couple blocks south of the 600 S. Clark Street location.
According to Crain’s, the potential new 600 S. Clark project could cost around $60 million to develop, but it’s still unknown what might have to be paid for the existing parking garage, which sold for $6 million back in 2008.
If the project does become a reality, a high-end amenities package is expected to be a part of the building, while units will range from studios to three-bedrooms.
