If you just can’t wait to start shopping at some of Chicago’s best farmers’ markets, you won’t have to wait long. Some of the city best markets open soon, selling everything from fresh produce to meat and baked items. Here are a few to check out in the city:

Daley Plaza City Market 

50 W Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602 | Website

The Daley Plaza City Market operates on Thursdays from mid-May through October. It is the city’s longest running farmers’ market and is a good place to pick up fresh fruits and veggies, along with some baked goods. 

Green City Market

1817 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614 | Website

Green City Market operates out of Lincoln Park and the West Loop. The Lincoln Park location is up and running from April through October. The site offers products from local food producers and sustainable farmers. The West Loop location operates in Mary Bartelme Park from June through October.

Division Street City Market

30 W Division St, Chicago, IL 60610 | Website

Expect to find fresh produce, cheeses, crepes and honey up for sale at the Division Street City Market. This market runs on Saturday mornings from early May through late October. 

Mercado de Colores

4345 W 26th St, Chicago, IL 60623 | Website 

Another Saturday market gets up and running at Manuel Perez Memorial Plaza starting in early June. Mercado del Colores sells products from local gardeners and farmers on Saturdays during season. 

Austin Town Hall City Market

5610 W Lake St, Chicago, IL 60644 | Website 

The Austin Town Hall City Market operates on Thursdays on West Lake Street in Chicago. Visitors will find fresh fruits and veggies, bakery items and locally sourced meat for sale. The market begins in early June and lasts through late October. 

West Humboldt Park City Market

The community-run West Humboldt Park City Market operates on Saturdays during season. The market begins this year in early June and goes through early October. Expect to find sustainably grown and farm-fresh vegetables and fruits up for sale at the market on West Chicago Avenue. 

Pullman City Market

S Cottage Grove Ave & E 111th St, Chicago, IL 60628 | Website

Pullman City Market on South Cottage Grove Avenue opens for the season in early July. The market stays open each Wednesday through late October. Shoppers can support local farmers by purchasing fresh vegetables and fruit at Pullman City. 

Bronzeville City Market

4700 S King Dr, Chicago, IL 60615 | Website 

The Bronzeville City Market is held each Sunday from mid-July through mid-October this year. You’ll find the market on South King Drive.
