New residential options are coming to the West Loop, as proposals call for the area to soon be home to three new apartment projects, all currently still in the works.

845 W. Madison

One of the largest is the project planned for 845 W Madison. Taking up an entire block, the development will eventually house more than 580 apartments and a large amount of retail space on the ground level.

900 W. Randolph

Yet another new project is a proposed 19-story building going in at 900 W Randolph. The project entails eventually housing around 280 rental units, from studios to three-bedrooms. In addition, plans call for ground level retail and some parking, as well as restoring another ten nearby buildings for even more retail and office space.

Lincoln Park Condo Development Hits MLSThe condos haven’t even been built yet, but already a new Lincoln Park development has listed some of its residential units for sale at the corner of Hampden Court and Diversey Parkway. Plans call for constructing a pair of high-end buildings at the former location of a grocery store and nearby parking lot.

Part of the proposed Hampden 53 building, the three listed condos are priced ranging from $1.2 million to $1.7 million. The residential building at 2753 N Hampden Court will house a total of 15-units, along with 27 parking spaces.

Reports have surfaced about a new 252-unit apartment building likely coming to Old Town after the Chicago Plan Commission officially approved the initial proposal. Being developed by LG, the large-scale building will be located at 1415 N. Sedgwick, replacing Old Town’s Noble Horse Theatre and Chicago’s last remaining riding hall. 

A rendering of the new 1415 N. Sedgwick has already been released, and the building’s impressive design is from Chicago-based NORR Architects. As a transit-oriented development, the building will only feature 89 parking spaces despite having 252 units, but a close proximity to the Sedgwick Brown/Blue line still makes for easy access to downtown.

After the demolition of the Bucktown Aldi at 1767 N. Milwaukee, many area residents have been wondering what will take over such a premium site that literally sits right alongside the 606 Trail, which is an outdoor amenity that’s continuing to fuel interest among home buyers and renters.
