Back in 2000, the building was designated a Chicago Landmark and in 2003, The Palmolive was added to the federal National Register of Historic Places. Initially built as a commercial development, it wasn’t until developer Draper and Kramer purchased the building in 2001 that it was converted to luxury residential spaces, which still today, are among the most expensive you’ll find anywhere on the downtown Chicago real estate market. Over the years, The Palmolive has had a number of noteworthy residents, but none more so than Vince Vaughn, who bought the penthouse unit that occupies the 35th, 36th, and 37th floors.
